I usually ask my couples to tell me the story of their engagement. It helps me to learn more about them to incorporate into our pre-wedding session. I want to know what they like to do together and where they like to spend their time so I can help them create meaningful photos in a place they feel comfortable or in doing something that they like to do as a couple.
Kevin and Rachel spend a lot of time canoeing on the lake they live on and Kevin described taking her out for a ride one evening and popping the question as they drifted along. Rachel said she’d LOVE to have some photos of them in their canoe and asked if I’d be into following them in another boat… uhhhh yeah …no question.
We met up this past weekend in the evening and wandered around the woods by their home before heading out on the boat to follow them around as they canoed.
I’m looking forward to their Kingston Wedding in July at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Authority (it’s also where I shot my first wedding in 2008!)
