oh Doghouse Studios …how I love thee. You combine my favorite things to shoot; weddings and abandoned buildings. Whenever I get an inquiry for Doghouse I instantly get giddy and can’t wait to meet the couple because they have uniqueness about them that lures them to this adorable old building for their wedding.
Courtney and Jason are, indeed, unique. Instead of getting dressed in their hotel Courtney decided to get ready in the ‘dance floor’ room at Doghouse because she felt the hotel room was too small to get everyone in and have room to move. It was also incredibly hot out so she wanted to minimize the time in her dress in the heat. When Jason and his gentlemen arrived I spotted superhero cufflinks, superhero undershirts and Jason’s Batman shoes (ahem – Converse)… ooooh I was going to enjoy this.
They had decided on a first look so I grabbed Jason shortly before the ceremony and we headed out back to avoid the prying eyes of guests arriving out front – Courtney said she was soooo nervous right up until the moment she saw him, then it all faded away and she was ready to get on with the show with confidence. The rest of the day was filled with laughter, hugs and high fives and I was honored to have been part of the day.
….aaaaaand here’s some of my favorite images from their awesome day:
